Chet Hanks has moved to a trailer park<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old actor-and-musician – who is the son of Hollywood legend Tom Hanks and his actress wife Rita Wilson<\/a> – recently moved to Nashville to pursue a country music career but he was reluctant to buy a new apartment after just splashing out on property in Los Angeles and the idea of temporary accommodation didn’t appeal, so he’s based himself in a luxurious trailer instead.<\/p>\n

He explained on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a>: \u201cI didn’t want to get an apartment because I literally just got a condo in LA and I furnished it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn’t want to do that again and I didn’t want to furnish it. So I was, like, staying in Airbnbs and hotels and that gets really old because I just like having my own space.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Running Point star’s decision was inspired by a recent trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea in California.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: \u201cI stayed in an Airstream trailer and I really loved it. I was like, \u2018Man, I want one of these\u2026’ So I did. I got a trailer.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nAnd although Chet didn’t get an Airstresm because he is “not there yet”, he is “really happy” with the Jayco Eagle he currently calls home.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: “[It has] everything I need. I got my kitchen. I got, you know, a walk-in shower. That’s a big deal with trailers, if it’s a walk-in shower, because sometimes they combine the toilet and shower. It’s called a wet bath.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nChet stressed there is nothing “sketchy” about the trailer park and he’s settle din a community of “great” older people.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: \u201cI’m probably, like, the youngest person in the trailer park by like 30 or 40 years.<\/p>\n

\n“It’s not what you think, you know? You think, oh, you’re gonna live in a trailer park. It might be a little sketchy. It might be a little dangerous. It’s all just, like retirees, you know? Great people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nBut the Something Out West band member hasn’t taken advantage of being so close to nature as much as he could have.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: \u201cI do have a campfire outside of it. I have a fire pit and I have used it.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cBut most of the time, I just do exactly what I do at home, which is just stay inside and lay in bed and watch Netflix and things like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
