Sinbad is returning to the stage<\/p>\n
\nThe 68-year-old actor and comedian revealed he was “so looking forward” to getting back to live comedy for two sold-out shows in Pasadena, California on April 29 and May 10.<\/p>\n
\nIn an Instagram video on Wednesday (29.04.26), he said: “I can’t walk. Since the stroke in 2020, I have not been on stage. I’m gonna get my feet wet. April 29th, May 10th at The Comedy Ice House in Pasadena, California.<\/p>\n
\n“It’s just the beginning of me coming back. I wanna thank everybody who bought tickets, I think it’s already sold out.<\/p>\n
\n“I’m so looking forward to these shows! I’ve got so much stuff to talk about, I’m gonna be talking more trash than I ever talked.”<\/p>\n
\nHe revealed that he had “two very funny people” opening for him, including longtime opening act Chase Anthony, and Sinbad’s own daughter Paige Bryan.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: “That’s the first time we worked together as comics on stage, I’m looking forward to this ’cause she talks more trash than I talk.”<\/p>\n
\nHe ended the video with a heartfelt message to his fans for their support over the last few years.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I thank you for all the prayers people prayed for me. It worked!”<\/p>\n
\nIn the caption he wrote: “Some moments you don’t rush. You just wait until they’re ready. Tonight is one of those moments. I’m coming back to the stage \u2014 and I’m bringing family with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLater in the day, Paige shared her own post about the show.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cTonight, I’m opening for the man, the myth, the legend himself. My daddy makes his return back to the stage at the legendary Ice House. This is bigger than I can fully comprehend.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSince starting comedy, my dad has only been able to watch me perform twice. Mainly due to the fact that MOST clubs are not ADA accessible so he literally can’t get in there.<\/p>\n
\n“It’s been heartbreaking to be on this journey without my biggest cheerleader so when I say tonight it special \u2014 it’s a moment I will NEVER forget and ALWAYS cherish.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe father and daughter duo are yet to share any posts about the first performance.<\/p>\n
\nIn a lengthy post on his website, his family previously detailed his health battles since suffering an ischemic stroke.<\/p>\n
\nAt the time, they said: “After surgery, Sinbad was talking and moving with some weakness, but the prognosis was very promising. The next day, however, another blood clot formed, half the size of the first…<\/p>\n
\n“He underwent the same surgery again successfully but it took a little more from him than the first surgery…<\/p>\n
\n“He was transferred to Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where the doctors indicated that his brain had begun to swell.”<\/p>\n
\nHe underwent a “craniotomy to relieve the pressure and reduce the swelling”, but his surgeon found a bleed during the procedure, and he was put into a medically induced coma, as well as placed on a ventilator.<\/p>\n
\nIt took several weeks until the Jingle All The Way star could speak or open his eyes, and months until he was slowly taken off the ventilator before starting therapy.<\/p>\n
\nHis odds of surviving were around 30 percent, but he has overcome that.<\/p>\n
\nHis family added at the time: “Sinbad is a light source of love and joy for many generations. <\/p>\n
\n“While he is beginning his road to recovery, we are faithful and optimistic that he will bring laughter into our hearts soon. <\/p>\n
\n“Our family thanks you in advance for your love and support and ask for continued prayers for his healing.”<\/p>\n
