Justin Hartley<\/strong><\/a> addressed the chances of Matlock<\/em>\u2018s Jason Ritter<\/strong><\/a> making an appearance on Tracker<\/em><\/a> after the show went through cast exits.<\/p>\n

Hartley, 49, was asked about Ritter\u2019s interview with Us Weekly<\/em> about a possible cameo, to which he replied on CBS Mornings<\/a><\/em>, \u201cI would love that. I have had a chance to talk to him a couple of times and he is a really funny guy. He is a talented actor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor was confident about sharing the screen with Ritter<\/a>, 46, in the near future.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe could find a role for him,\u201d Hartley added. \u201cHe said he wanted to be a damsel in distress or something. We can find something for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ritter recently spoke with Us<\/em> about shooting his shot. \u201cJustin and I are very friendly. I really love him. He\u2019s such a nice guy,\u201d he shared while suggesting a possible Tracker crossover with Matlock. \u201cJulian is going to be looking for new positions so maybe he can train me in his tracking ways and I can help him find some people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the third season of Tracker<\/em><\/a> came to an end, Ritter joked about a possible story line.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Tracker ever wants a partner [for Justin\u2019s character, Colter], maybe Julian leaves the firm and he starts a new life,\u201d he told Us in August 2025. \u201cJust two rugged guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ritter\u2019s costar Skye P. Marshall<\/strong> later weighed in on his idea.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cJason comes to set now, and he squints his eyes and he tries to play a rugged guy. And we\u2019re like, \u2018Can you please stop?’\u201d she quipped in September 2025. \u201cAnd he\u2019ll put his foot up on the chair and squint his eyes like James Dean. It makes my stomach crawl. I was like, \u2018You\u2019re not a rugged guy, OK?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Tracker, which premiered in February 2024, is centered around a survivalist named Colter (Hartley) who travels the country helping people and law enforcement tackle a variety of mysteries. Marshall would still love to see Ritter share the screen with Hartley. \u201cBut I feel like he\u2019d be the guy that gets kidnapped,\u201d she joked. \u201cPlease don\u2019t give Jason Ritter a gun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ritter couldn\u2019t help but agree with Marshall\u2019s assessment, telling Us<\/em> earlier this month, \u201cShe\u2019s probably right. Who knows? It\u2019s TV, so anything can happen. A guy like me can be a hero on TV but in real life, if I was on Tracker, I\u2019d be like, \u2018All right, I got these guys \u2026 Oh, one of them snuck up behind me and that\u2019s the end for me. Save me, please. I\u2019ve made this mission 20 times harder by being captured.’\u201d<\/p>\n
