Taylor Swift says “it gets a little weird” when her fans become obsessed with figuring out what songs are about which guys because “that dude didn\u2019t write the song, I did.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it gets a little bit weird for me is when people act like it\u2019s a paternity test,\u201d she said. \u201cLike, \u2018This song\u2019s about that person.\u2019 Because I\u2019m like, \u2018That dude didn\u2019t write the song, I did.\u2019 But that\u2019s part of it,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n

Despite the scrutiny, Swift expressed the importance of abiding by her own \u201cperception\u201d when songwriting. \u201cYou have to hold tight to your perception of your art and your relationship with it, and then you kind of have to [mimes blowing it out] there it goes. Hope you like it. And if you don\u2019t now, hope you do in five years, and if you never do, then I was doing it for me anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n
