\t\t<\/p>\n King Charles<\/strong><\/a> and Queen Camilla<\/strong><\/a> kicked off their U.S. state visit on Monday with a tour of the White House. <\/p>\n The British royals were greeted by President Donald Trump<\/strong> and First Lady Melania Trump<\/strong> during the White House visit on Monday afternoon (April 27) in Washington, D.C. <\/p>\n The two couples posed for photos outside of the White House and then went inside for tea. This marks Charles<\/strong>\u2018 first visit to the U.S. since he became the King of England. Since visiting the states for the first time at 21 years old, he has visited at least 19 times. <\/p>\n The day started with Charles <\/strong>and Camilla <\/strong>landing at Joint Base Andrews just before 3pm ET. They then changed into new outfits before arriving at the White House just after 4pm ET. Later in the day, they attended a garden party at the British Embassy with the U.K. ambassador to the U.S. <\/p>\n \u201cPresident Trump has always had great respect for King Charles, and their relationship was further strengthened by the president\u2019s historic visit to the United Kingdom last year,\u201d White House spokesperson Anna Kelly <\/strong>said <\/a>before the visit. \u201cThe president looks forward to a special visit by Their Majesties, which will include a beautiful state dinner and multiple events throughout the week.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
