\t\t<\/p>\n Nedra Talley Ross<\/strong><\/a> has passed away. <\/p>\n The Ronettes<\/strong> singer, who was a founding member of the group, died at the age of 80 years old on Sunday morning (April 26), her daughter revealed on Facebook. <\/p>\n \u201cAt approximately 8:30 this morning our mother Nedra Talley Ross<\/strong> went home to be with the Lord,\u201d Nedra K Ross<\/strong> shared, via Variety<\/a><\/em>. \u201cShe was safe in her own bed at home with her family close, knowing she was loved. Thank you Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ronettes<\/strong>\u2018 official Facebook page also shared the sad news of Nedra\u2019s passing. <\/p>\n \u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Nedra Talley Ross<\/strong>\u2019 passing. She was a light to those who knew and loved her,\u201d the account wrote<\/a>. \u201cAs a founding member of The Ronettes<\/strong>, along with her beloved cousins Ronnie<\/strong> and Estelle<\/strong>, Nedra<\/strong>\u2019s voice, style and spirit helped define a sound that would change music. Her contribution to the group\u2019s story and their defining influence will live forever. Rest peacefully dear Nedra<\/strong>. Thanks for the magic.\u201d <\/p>\n The Ronettes<\/strong> was first started by Nedra<\/strong> and her cousins Ronnie Spector<\/strong> and Estelle Bennett<\/strong>, in 1959. They were first signed to Colpix Records in 1961 before moving to Phil Spector<\/strong>\u2018s Philles Records in 1963. <\/p>\n In 1965, The Ronettes<\/strong> were nominated for their first Grammy award for \u201cWalking in the Rain\u201d and were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame with their song \u201cBe My Baby\u201d in 1999. <\/p>\n Nedra<\/strong>\u2018s passing comes over four years after Ronnie Spector<\/strong> passed away. Prior to her death, Ronnie<\/strong> was producing a biopic about her life and hand-selected Zendaya<\/strong> to portray her<\/a>.
