Cher<\/a>\u2019s request for a conservatorship for her troubled son Elijah Blue Allman has been denied.<\/p>\n

Cher\u2019s conservatorship for son denied<\/p>\n

The Believe singer recently filed for a temporary conservatorship over Elijah, 49, citing concerns about his health and finances. She alleged Elijah is \u201cgravely disabled\u201d and \u201chas no concept of money\u201d, adding he \u201cis unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence\u201d due to \u201csevere mental health and addiction issues\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, a Los Angeles judge rejected Cher<\/a>\u2019s bid to appoint a conservator, saying she did not see “sufficient urgency”, according to PEOPLE.<\/p>\n

Allman is currently an inpatient at a psychiatric hospital, as he faces criminal charges in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

Cher<\/a> had claimed in her filing that any money Allman receives from his late father Gregg Allman’s trust is “immediately squandered” on drugs.<\/p>\n

\nA new instalment from the trust is due next month but the judge ruled that because Allman is in hospital with charges pending, she does not believe he will be able to access the money.<\/p>\n

\nThe judge stated: \u201cThese distributions have been happening for years, as I understand it. So the fact that a petition was filed two weeks before the next distribution when that schedule has been known for a very long time doesn’t necessarily qualify in my mind as an emergency.”<\/p>\n

\nHowever, the case has been dismissed without prejudice, meaning Cher can file again if she wishes.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to court documents filed by Cher and obtained by PEOPLE, Cher \u2013 who previously filed for a temporary conservatorship over her son’s estate in December 2023 \u2013 claimed Allman\u2019s life “has significantly deteriorated” since the last conservatorship petition.<\/p>\n

\nThe documents further claim that Allman is: “currently in custody in the State of New Hampshire in a locked psychiatric hospital in an attempt to restore him to competency to face criminal charges in two cases across two New Hampshire counties for: felony burglary criminal mischief, simple assault, criminal trespass and breach of bail, but that is just the current set of problems\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nAllman is facing the charges after allegedly causing a disturbance at an elite prep school in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

\nPolice were called to St. Paul\u2019s School in Concord in February amid reports of an unwanted guest.<\/p>\n

\nA spokesperson for the Concord Police Department told TMZ that the school reported an unwanted guest, who was allegedly \u201ccausing a disturbance and acting belligerently\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nAllman is not believed to have any connection to the school.<\/p>\n
