Geri Halliwell<\/a>, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm \u2013 and rose to global prominence in the late 1990s.<\/p>\nMel said: \u201cI mean, I remember when I was pregnant at 23 that I did an interview, a live interview,<\/p>\n
and the host was like, \u2018Can I weigh you, how much you weigh?\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat would never be allowed in this day and age, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cI was like, \u2018I don\u2019t care\u2026 how much I weigh. I\u2019ve got a baby growing inside me.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m not very precious, but that wouldn\u2019t happen in this day and age.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAsked about the prospect of a documentary revisiting such moments, Mel said she would support a project if it were \u201chonest and raw\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cBut I have nothing, like, horrendous or bad.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI had an absolute blast.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nReflecting on her time in her band, Mel said: \u201cMe being part of Spice Girls, I loved every single moment of it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThere\u2019s not a day where it felt like a drag or a chore, and even if there were things that we came up against \u2013 whether it be sexism or whatever \u2013 we kind of trampled on that as a group together that supported each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMel also described her approach to speaking publicly about personal issues and identity. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI just speak my mind and I speak how I feel.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou know, whether that be about mixed race women or Black women embracing their hair texture and wearing their hair out, about having that voice against abuse and knowing how to get out of that relationship and do it safely.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cJust being the best that you can be without beating yourself up so much about just embracing who you are, curves, warts and all.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMel is the mother of three daughters \u2013 Phoenix, Angel Iris, 19, and Madison, 14. <\/p>\n
\nShe shares Phoenix with Jimmy Gulzar, Angel Iris with comedian Eddie Murphy, and Madison with Stephen Belafonte. <\/p>\n
\nThe singer married hairstylist Rory McPhee in July 2025.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking previously to Page Six about a potential Spice Girls reunion, Mel said: \u201cIn a perfect world, we\u2019d already be on tour right now, touring the whole entire world.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m always the one going, \u2018Yes, we\u2019re going on tour\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI would love to go on tour. I would love to do music, but it isn\u2019t happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
