Rumer Willis tries to ignore online trolls<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old actress is very aware of the online criticism surrounding her parenting, but Rumer does her best to ignore the trolls.<\/p>\n
Rumer – who has Louetta, three, with her ex-partner Derek Thomas – told E! News: “My goal is not to try and behave in this way that seems like I’m totally unconscious of what’s going on.<\/p>\n
“But I’m really trying to find the places that are the same\u2014that we can connect, that we can support each other.<\/p>\n
“I might not do that the best sometimes. Honestly, some days, it’s just a challenge. We’re all trying to figure out how to be understood, how to be seen. You can have a day where somebody pops off and it doesn’t bother me and sometimes, it really does.”<\/p>\n
\nRumer – who is the daughter of Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Bruce Willis – is conscious that she had a very particular upbringing.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress acknowledges that relative to most single mothers, she’s in a privileged position.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I’m not naive to the fact that I have had a different level of privilege.<\/p>\n
\n“I’ve just grown up different and there will always be a divide with certain things. I can say I’m struggling as a single mom but there’s just a level that’s different. I understand that.”<\/p>\n
\nRumer previously claimed that she fell in love with the movie business on the set of Striptease.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress starred alongside her mom in the 1996 movie, and Rumer relished the experience of working on a film set at such a young age, admitting that she “loved every second” of the shoot.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to People, she explained: “I was just so enamoured and kind of like, \u2018What is this world? What’s going on here?\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nThe actress actually remembers dancing in her mom’s shoes during lunch breaks.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I loved the costumes.<\/p>\n
\n“During lunch sometimes I would go try and put my mom’s shoes on and a feather boa and dance around the stage.”<\/p>\n
