Teddi Mellencamp<\/strong><\/a> isn\u2019t feeling like herself after gaining weight amid her cancer journey \u2014 so she tried to do something about it by getting prescribed a GLP-1 medication.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a health and wellness coach who\u2019s dying of cancer,\u201d Mellencamp, 44, said with a laugh on the Wednesday, April 22, episode of her \u201cTwo Ts in a Pod<\/a>\u201d podcast while joined by guest cohost, Dolores Catania<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mellencamp explained, \u201cAnd because I gained weight from the steroids [from my treatment], because I\u2019m getting bigger from the steroids, I asked my doctor if I could please have GLP-1s. And he was like, \u2018No!’\u201d<\/p>\n

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em><\/a> alum was frustrated over the conversation, saying, \u201cLet me live!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mellencamp recalled thinking that her doctor is telling her to \u201clive my best life, but I don\u2019t even get [the meds I want].\u201d She scoffed, \u201cLive your best life? Where are my GLP-1s?\u201d<\/p>\n

Catania, 55, was instantly on Mellencamp\u2019s side, and suggested she get the weight-loss drugs<\/a> from another source.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so sorry someone told you no,\u201d Catania said. \u201cBut I don\u2019t know that I\u2019d listen!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mellencamp noted, \u201cI mean, I know people where I could get it. I have friends that do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Catania offered Mellencamp to join her own weight-loss journey, saying, \u201cWell, I\u2019m taking it tomorrow if you wanna start with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The more the Real Housewives of New Jersey<\/em><\/a> alum thought about how Mellencamp\u2019s doctor reacted to her GLP-1s request, Catania felt increasingly hopeful that Mellencamp had a better chance at survival than previously anticipated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think maybe someone\u2019s lying,\u201d Catania said. \u201cI don\u2019t think you\u2019re dying. Because [if you were dying,] he would\u2019ve said, \u2018Oh, if that\u2019s what you want, sure! Take that, go do some coke, go snort whatever you want!’\u201d<\/p>\n

Mellencamp has been honest about her ups and downs with cancer<\/a> since being diagnosed with stage II melanoma in 2022. After undergoing 17 surgeries during the next two years, Mellencamp told her fans in February 2025 that doctors found multiple tumors on her brain, two of which were removed that day.<\/p>\n

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, opened up about experiencing some \u201creally hard\u201d nights in a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 15. Mellencamp recently underwent surgery for multiple brain tumors and is undergoing further treatment to treat more tumors. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The former reality star revealed the following month that her cancer had metastasized and was upgraded to stage 4.<\/p>\n

In April 2025, Mellencamp exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> that doctors found more brain tumors and she was \u201cfighting for my life.\u201d Six months later, Mellencamp announced that her October 2025 scans showed \u201cno detectable cancer<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
