Picture this: You\u2019re watching TV. Your wife is doing yoga. Everything is perfectly normal. Then a neighbor pounds on your door to tell you a hot air balloon just landed in your backyard.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s exactly what happened to one Southern California family last weekend, and the whole thing was caught on video that\u2019s now going viral on TikTok<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hunter Perrin<\/strong> was having a quiet morning at his Temecula home in Riverside County when the universe decided to shake things up. A hot air balloon \u2014 decorated with yellow stars and a moon like something straight out of a storybook \u2014 descended into his backyard at around 8:30 a.m. with 13 people on board.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSomewhere in your phone\u2019s endless scroll, you\u2019ve probably seen the video \u2014 a father and his young son, both in swimming trunks, padding through a completely empty water park in the dead of night. Security cameras captured every moment. And somehow, the story behind it is even better than it looks. The footage, shared by [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The wildest part? He didn\u2019t even notice at first.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was watching TV and my wife was doing yoga,\u201d Perrin told the Associated Press<\/a>. \u201cThere was a man standing in front of my door saying: \u2018They just landed.\u2019 What? I was very confused.\u201d<\/p>\n

He gave a similar account to Eyewitness News<\/a><\/em>: \u201cI go and answer the door. This guy\u2019s like, \u2018They just landed in your backyard!\u2019\u201d Perrin said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018What!?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

How the Family Reacted to Seeing a Hot Air Balloon in Their Backyard<\/h2>\n

When Hunter opened his sliding glass door, the scene waiting for him was almost too surreal to process.<\/p>\n

\u201cI open the sliding glass door, and there\u2019s a basket full of 13 people in my backyard!\u201d he said. \u201cThe pilot, he was masterful. He got it right down inside, like directly into the backyard, where there was nothing. The balloon didn\u2019t catch on anything. No one was injured.\u201d<\/p>\n

His wife, Jenna Perrin<\/strong>, had the kind of reaction most of us would.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was unbelievable, like something out of a Disney fairy tale,\u201d Jenna said. \u201cThe balloon didn\u2019t hit our house or our trees. It was kissing the fence.\u201d<\/p>\n

And then there was the greeting committee.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I run to the backyard, and there\u2019s a whole group of people that are just waving at me,\u201d Jenna said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh my God. So the sound I heard was the flames?!\u2019 And I\u2019m like \u2026 \u2018Hi!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

What Happened Up in the Air Before the Emergency Landing?<\/h2>\n

So how did a balloon full of people end up in a suburban backyard? The weather. There simply wasn\u2019t enough wind to keep the balloon moving.<\/p>\n

One of the passengers, Brianna Avalos<\/strong>, was on the ride with her husband to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. She recalled the moment things shifted.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said there\u2019s not enough wind, because the wind kind of like, stopped a little bit. And he was like, \u2018We\u2019re going to land.\u2019 And we only had a little bit of fuel left,\u201d Avalos told Eyewitness News<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The pilot had initially aimed for a different landing spot.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was trying to get us to the street, but we couldn\u2019t get to the street in time, so we landed in the people\u2019s backyard safe and sound, like no one\u2019s hurt, everyone\u2019s great. He was an amazing pilot!\u201d Avalos said.<\/p>\n

Her first reaction on landing? Pure disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first I was like, \u2018Oh my God! We\u2019re in a backyard! This is crazy!\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
