23 April 2026<\/time>\n <\/p>\nThe Prince and Princess of Wales have shared intimate video footage from a family holiday to mark Prince Louis’ eighth birthday.<\/p>\n

The couple’s youngest son celebrated his birthday on Thursday (23.04.26) and to mark the occasion, a montage of footage from a recent trip to Cornwall was shared on their official Instagram account.<\/p>\n
In the video, Louis could be seen running on the beach, playing cricket, digging a hole in the sand and jumping into the sea.<\/p>\n
The footage was captioned: \u2018Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Prince Louis. 8 is great.(sic)”<\/p>\n
Earlier in the day, a photograph of the young prince taken by Matt Porteous was released to mark Louis’ birthday.<\/p>\n
\nIt appeared to have been taken during the same holiday, with Louis posing with his arms crossed on a boat, wearing a half-zip fleece from Boden.<\/p>\n
\nIt was captioned: \u201cHappy birthday, Louis! 8 today![balloon emoji] (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nWilliam recently described his youngest son as a “character” who loves to “wind up” his older siblings, Prince George, 12, and 10-year-old Princess Charlotte.<\/p>\n
\nAsked during a visit to the Sunningdale branch of the Women\u2019s Institute in September if his youngest son was “a handful”, William replied: \u201cHe\u2019s a character but he\u2019s a very good boy, he really is. He likes to wind his brother and sister up.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhen George is behind closed doors it\u2019s a completely different ballgame<\/p>\n
\n\u201cGeorge just knows how to behave, that\u2019s the difference. There\u2019s five years between them, I think you\u2019ll see the difference (as Louis gets older).\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Prince of Wales also revealed Louis is “obsessed” with trampolining and he and Catherine encourage all of their children to stay active.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to Eugene Levy on his Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler, he said: \u201cLouis loves the trampoline, so he\u2019s obsessed with trampolining and actually Charlotte does a lot as well. <\/p>\n
\n“As far as I can tell, they just end up jumping up and down on the trampoline, beating each other up, most of the time. Apparently, there is an art to it.<\/p>\n
\n“Charlotte does her netball as well, and her ballet, and so keeping them busy with sports and being outdoors is really important.<\/p>\n
\n“They\u2019re trying to learn musical instruments. I\u2019m not sure how successful we\u2019re being with that. George loves his football and his hockey.\u201d<\/p>\n
