Nearly six months after Adam Rich died at the age of 54<\/a>, his cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n According to a recent report from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner\u2019s office<\/a>, Rich died on January 7 due to the \u201ceffects of fentanyl.\u201d His passing was ruled as an accident.<\/p>\n News broke in January that the\u00a0Eight Is Enough\u00a0<\/i>alum had been found dead<\/a> in his Los Angeles home.<\/p>\n Rich was best known for his role<\/a> as youngest sibling Nicholas Bradford on ABC\u2019s\u00a0Eight Is Enough,\u00a0<\/i>which ran for five seasons between 1977 and 1981. The sitcom followed the daily adventures of the expansive Bradford Brood. Dick Van Patten,\u00a0Connie Needham<\/b>,\u00a0Grant Goodeve<\/b>,\u00a0Willie Aames<\/b>, Lani O\u2019Grady and\u00a0Laurie Walters<\/b>\u00a0also starred.<\/p>\n \u201cI think [Adam was one of the reasons that the show] was a big success,\u201d Van Patten, who died in 2015 at the age of 86, recalled of working with his former TV son in a throwback\u00a0Archive of American Television <\/a><\/i>interview. \u201cPeople loved him. They named their child \u2018Nicholas\u2019 and everything because of him.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cHe was like 7 years old [when we started the show] and\u00a0he was cute and he was a good actor<\/a>. He was very natural.\u201d<\/p>\n After\u00a0Eight Is Enough\u00a0<\/i>wrapped, Rich continued acting and scored roles in the likes of\u00a0The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, CHiPs, Silver Spoons\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0Baywatch<\/i><\/a>. The\u00a0Code Red\u00a0<\/i>alum ultimately took a step back from the spotlight in the years preceding his death.<\/p>\n After Rich passed away, many of his TV siblings paid tribute to his legacy.<\/p>\n \u201cThis morning [my wife] Winnie woke me with the heartbreaking news of Adam Rich\u2019s passing,\u201d Aames, 62, wrote via Facebook<\/a> in January. \u201cI\u2019m gutted. Adam was more than a colleague. He was very much my only little brother. A lifelong friend.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued at the time: \u201cThese last few years Adam had dreams of renewing his career. He was one of those kid actors that our generation will always remember.\u201d<\/p>\n Corey Feldman<\/strong><\/a> also paid tribute to Rich\u00a0via Twitter<\/a>. \u201cAnother brilliant light, another tortured soul, another child star who couldn\u2019t find his peace after what he endured,\u201d the 51-year-old actor, who is also known for his roles as a child star<\/a>,\u00a0tweeted at the time. \u201cHe was a friend, a comrade & a talented person w a deep passion 4 helping others understand mental illness<\/a>.
