That might be a problem, as they\u2019re both married to other people.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/04\/dianna-russini-resigns-amid-mike-vrabel-cheating-scandal-will-patriots-coach-step-down-next\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Russini resigned <\/a>from her post at <em>The Athletic<\/em>, but in her resignation letter, she continued to deny any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Vrabel is moving in a similarly confusing direction.<\/p>\n<p>While he has yet to admit that his relationship with Russini was inappropriate, Vrabel revealed this week that he will be checking into counseling and will miss the third day of this weekend\u2019s NFL Draft as a result.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization, and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48566969\/mike-vrabel-seek-counseling-not-patriots-day-3-nfl-draft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vrabel told ESPN<\/a>. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BREAKING: Mike Vrabel leaves Patriots to seek counseling | Speakeasy in SHAMBLES!\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QS06fbanBWo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThis is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vrabel initially dismissed the cheating allegations as \u201claughable.\u201d When asked about those comments in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/04\/mike-vrabel-breaks-silence-on-dianna-russini-scandal-did-he-admit-to-cheating\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent press conference<\/a>, he was quick to sidestep the question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appreciate the question. I\u2019m going to focus on our football team,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I\u2019ve addressed what I felt like was important. So, we\u2019ll be focusing on our football team and the importance of teaching these guys, bringing a new team together, 13 new players,\u201d Vrabel continued, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI\u2019ve had some difficult conversations with people that I care about. My family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So Vrabel is having \u201chard conversations,\u201d and he\u2019s missing important team events in order to check into counseling, but he still won\u2019t admit to any wrongdoing?<\/p>\n<p>This might not be the high character path that he thinks it is.
