Season 3 of Justin Hartley<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s hit series Tracker<\/em><\/a> is coming to an end.<\/p>\n

Based on Jeffery Deaver<\/strong>\u2018s novel The Never Game<\/em>, Tracker<\/em> centers around Colter<\/a> (Hartley), who travels the country helping to find missing people (or sometimes dogs) and solving cases others couldn\u2019t or wouldn\u2019t. Hartley, 49, also serves as an executive producer and has hinted at how far the show will push his character.<\/p>\n

Three seasons in, the CBS series has found success with a mix of intense cases, familiar guest stars and Hartley at the center of it all. Tracker<\/em> has also gone through<\/a> a series of cast changes, with Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany<\/strong> and Eric Graise<\/strong> exiting the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think it\u2019s evolving. If I can\u2019t evolve those characters \u2014 Randy or Reenie or Bobby \u2014 they\u2019re not just people that just pick up the phone and go, \u2018OK, here is the answer.\u2019 That\u2019s when the show is phoning it in,\u201d executive producer Elwood Reid<\/strong> exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in May 2025. \u201cThe challenge is when you got to learn about them, which I thought was interesting. That\u2019s the challenge of the show is not having it fall into a formula.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJustin Hartley\u2019s Tracker has dealt with numerous surprise cast exits \u2014 so who is and isn\u2019t returning for season 4? The hit CBS series, which premiered in February 2024, introduced fictional survivalist Colter (Hartley) as he travels the country to help solve various missing persons cases. The ensemble cast grew with characters such as handlers [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

More recently, Reid weighed in on the onscreen changes. \u201cWhat we\u2019re realizing is there are characters that come on that if it worked, we\u2019d bring them back,\u201d he told Us<\/em> in December 2025. \u201cI do think the show can\u2019t always do that. But when it does do that, it makes the world feel a little bit more connected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid noted there was only one constant<\/a> on the show: Hartley\u2019s fan-favorite character.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe audience leans in because they\u2019ve seen that character before. But I think they\u2019re still thinking the central DNA of the show is Colter. With this guy, what makes him appealing is he is a mystery to himself,\u201d he added. \u201cHe\u2019s a mystery to the audience. We see him and his off time putting together some pieces of his past.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded, \u201cI don\u2019t know if we\u2019ll ever put it all together, but he\u2019s going to struggle to continue to do that. That\u2019s just as far as we have thought. The biggest improvement we made this year \u2014 in my opinion \u2014 was getting people in the same room. Just that connectivity, I do think the audience is enjoying seeing their characters in the same place physically.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fiona Rene<\/strong> is the only OG \u2014 outside of Hartley \u2014 who has remained along<\/a> with series regular Chris Lee<\/strong>. During season 3, Colter had to balance finding missing people while dealing with the revelation that his mother was responsible for his father\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
