Dutton Ranch<\/em>\u2018s Morgan Wade<\/strong> isn\u2019t the only country singer to make the transition to scripted TV roles.<\/a><\/p>\n

Jelly Roll<\/strong> played a scene-stealing character on season 3<\/a> of Fire Country<\/em>, marking his acting debut. Fire Country<\/em> star \u2014 and executive producer \u2014 Max Thieriot<\/strong> later told Us Weekly<\/em> that he \u201creached out first\u201d to Jelly Roll after crossing paths at the CMT Music Awards.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was finishing drying his hands with a towel in the bathroom at the CMTs [in April 2024]. I ran into him in the bathroom straight up at the CMT Music Awards,\u201d he recalled in 2025. \u201cI said, \u2018Thank you for letting us have some of your songs on the show.\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018Dude, how do I get on the show? I\u2019ve been petitioning online and talking to my people and you got to get me on that show.\u2019 He said Fire Country is what he really represents. \u2026 He called me the next day and it showed how sincere he was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thieriot credited Jelly Roll<\/a> for being so collaborative.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe worked on coming up with a character [for him] that we all thought would be interesting, unique and special and still. It tells some of the story about second chances and what he really represents,\u201d he noted to Us<\/em>. \u201cBut [it] also feels different from who he is and how people see him day to day as a country singer.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded, \u201cI don\u2019t know [if we will have more country singers]. I have to wait for the next awards show and I\u2019m just going to set up a chair in the bathroom to start greeting them as they come in. But there\u2019s a few that we\u2019ve been talking with for a while now. Honestly, it would be fun to maybe see both [Kane and Jelly Roll] bring their characters back in some form.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Yellowstone<\/em> spinoff Marshals<\/em> also recruited country music star Riley Green<\/strong><\/a>, who appeared in several April 2026 episodes as a former Navy SEAL.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt happened really organically. It was through Luke Grimes, who\u2019s become a real good buddy of mine,\u201d he told People in March 2026 about how his role on the show came to be. \u201cHe\u2019s starting his music career and was starting to come to Nashville and doing some cowriting and stuff. I was trying to help him out in that world a little bit with some people that I knew. He was like, \u2018Man, you should try acting, you know? I think you\u2019d be good at it.\u2019 I was already kind of putting thought into that.\u201d<\/p>\n

After meeting with an<\/a> acting coach, Green was taught not to \u201cworry so much about the lines\u201d and instead focus on responding \u201cto what the other person says.\u201d Green also teased how his character has \u201ca lot of vulnerability,\u201d in addition to his extensive military experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019d been through a lot and had a lot of problems and that\u2019s not the easiest thing to just jump into,\u201d Green noted. \u201cI certainly think there would have been characters that would have been easier for me to sort of tap into that were more similar to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
