Summer House<\/em><\/a> star West Wilson<\/strong><\/a> is setting the record straight on the timeline of his and Amanda Batula<\/strong>\u2018s romance as the pair continue to take heat after going public.<\/p>\n

During the Monday, April 20, episode of his and Sophie Cunningham<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cShow Me Something\u201d podcast, West, 31, shut down the insinuation that he and Amanda, 34, weren\u2019t single when they got together.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no overlap,\u201d he insisted, adding that the couple \u201crealized things were maybe a little bit serious\u201d in February. \u201cI know there\u2019s a thousand different theories on the internet right now, but that is one thing that for sure did not happen. Everyone was single.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amanda and Kyle Cooke<\/strong> announced in January that their marriage was over. Rumors later swirled about Amanda and West, who was previously involved with her friend<\/a> and their costar Ciara Miller<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After initially dodging speculation that they were secretly hooking up, West and Amanda confirmed their relationship in March, telling fans via social media that things were \u201cstill very new\u201d between them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was never our intention to purposely hide anything. \u2026 We\u2019ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what\u2019s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,\u201d their statement continued, in part. \u201cOur connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source later told Us Weekly<\/em> that Ciara, 30, felt \u201cbetrayed,\u201d<\/a> saying, \u201cCiara is heartbroken by this. She and Amanda were very close, and she feels more betrayed than ever by both of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ciara eventually broke her silence on the scandal in an interview with Glamour<\/em> published Friday, April 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust know when something\u2019s weird in your gut, there\u2019s a reason. What\u2019s done in the dark always comes to light,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd sometimes you really don\u2019t even have to do anything except sit back and let the universe handle it all.\u201d<\/p>\n
