20px), 720px\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-1606890633-scaled.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">d4vd attends Variety Power of Young Hollywood at NeueHouse Los Angeles on August 10, 2023 in Hollywood, California. <span class=\"image-caption-credit\"> (Photo by Kevin Winter\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In a press conference, a spokesperson for the LAPD explained that D4vd has been charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14,  mutilating a body, and first degree murder with special circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/04\/20\/d4vd-prosecutors-expected-to-announce-charges-in-celeste-rivas-hernandez-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TMZ<\/a> notes, that last charge makes him eligible for the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, D4vd murdered Celeste on April 23, 2025, but did not mutilate her body until May 5th.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear how police arrived at those dates, but Rivas was reported missing just days before her murder.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators also allege that \u201cD4vd did unlawfully engage in three and more acts of \u2018substantial sexual conduct\u2019\u201d with Rivas.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2222273141-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"PARIS, FRANCE - Hochman, Rivas\u2019 \u201cdismembered and decomposed remains were found in two bags.\u201d Parts of the body remain missing,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investigation was to determine who killed, who murdered, Celeste months and months before,\u201d Hochman added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was never heard from again,\u201d he said of Rivas\u2019 sudden disappearance in April of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Rivas\u2019 body was found in the trunk of a car when impound lot employees began to complain of a foul odor emanating from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The car was registered in D4vd\u2019s name, but it was not clear if he had ever driven it.
