Dean Cain<\/a> starred with Patrick in the Dog Who Saved Christmas film series and paid tribute to his friend.<\/p>\nAlongside praying and broken heart emojis, he simply wrote on X: “RIP, my friend.”<\/p>\n
\nChild actor Jake Getman lamented the fact the Melrose Place star was “gone too soon”.<\/p>\n
\nHe wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of them together: \u201cRIP Patrick Muldoon. Worked with him when I was 8 on Little Dead Rotting Hood \u2014 a great guy and always kept the energy light. #gonetoosoon.(sic)”<\/p>\n
\nAlison Sweeney described the death of her Days of our Lives co-star as “heartbreaking”.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote on X: “This is such heartbreaking news. Pat was a rare kind of person\u2014brilliantly talented, endlessly kind, and generous in spirit. I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days, he made me feel at ease right away. He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed.(sic)”<\/p>\n
\nThe Starship Troopers actor – who is survived by partner Miriam Rothbart, parents Deanna and Patrick Sr., and sister Shana – was remembered as “endlessly generous” by his friends.<\/p>\n
\nHis pals told Deadline: “[Patrick] loved animals and people alike, gave unforgettable hugs, and possessed a rare quality of making others feel safe and seen.<\/p>\n
\n \u201cStylish, charismatic, and full of life, he embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock \u2019n\u2019 roll spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPatrick’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, previously told TMZ her brother was taking a shower when his partner found him unconscious on the bathroom floor but paramedics were unable to revive him at the scene.<\/p>\n
\nPatrick grew up in California and started acting in college, landing a role in sitcom Who\u2019s the Boss? and appearing in teen show Saved By the Bell for three episodes shortly after he graduated in 1991.<\/p>\n
\nThe actor went on to land his role as Austin Reed on hit soap Days of Our Lives, staying with the show between 1992 and 1995 and returning for a second stint from 2011 until 2012.<\/p>\n
\nIn the mid-1990s he went on to star in Melrose Place as villain Richard Hart from 1995 until 1996.<\/p>\n
\nHe scored numerous movie roles over the years appearing as Zander Barcalow in Starship Troopers in 1997 and landing a role in 1999’s Stigmata, while more recently he appeared in Deadlock in 2021 with Bruce Willis and in 2022 Liam Neeson film Marlowe, which he also produced.<\/p>\n
\nLast year, he teased soap fans about a possible return to his soap roots by hinting he could be returning to Days Of Our Lives.<\/p>\n
\nIn a video posted on the Peacock network’s social media platforms, Patrick was seen walking around backstage looking for the soap’s studio before realising he was in the right place and declaring: “Oh my God I’m in Salem! It\u2019s good to be back”.<\/p>\n
\nHis latest movie, Dirty Hands, was due to be released later this year.<\/p>\n
