D4vd<\/strong> has officially been charged with murder.<\/p>\n

District Attorney Nathan Hochman<\/strong> gave a press conference on Monday (April 20) sharing that the 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is David Anthony Burke<\/strong>, would be facing a first-degree murder charge, and charges for sexual assault and for dismembering a body.<\/p>\n

On Thursday (April 16), the LAPD announced that he was arrested for the murder<\/a> of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas-Hernandez<\/em>. His arrest comes seven months after a decomposed body was found<\/a> in an abandoned Tesla registered to him. <\/p>\n

Variety<\/em><\/a> reports that he could potentially face the death penalty.<\/p>\n

This past November, gruesome details about Celeste<\/strong>\u2018s murder<\/a> were revealed after D4vd<\/strong> was named a suspect in the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us be clear \u2014 the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death. There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed,\u201d his attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski <\/strong>and Regina Peter<\/strong> said at the time of his arrest. \u201cDavid has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David\u2019s innocence.\u201d<\/p>\n
