Louis Tomlinson<\/strong><\/a> appears to have cut internet ties with former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tomlinson, 34, has unfollowed Malik, 33, on Instagram as of Saturday, April 18. When the change occurred remains unclear, but Tomlinson\u2019s sisters, Phoebe<\/strong> and Lottie<\/strong>, are also no longer following the \u201cPillowtalk\u201d singer. Tomlinson is still following his other 1D group members, Harry Styles<\/strong>, Niall Horan<\/strong> and the late Liam Payne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Malik, for his part, was still following Tomlinson at the time of publication. (The Sun<\/em> <\/a>was first to report the news.)<\/p>\n

Tomlinson\u2019s social media move comes one day after The Sun<\/em><\/a> reported about an alleged physical altercation between the musicians. The incident allegedly occurred while the duo were filming their unnamed three-episode docuseries<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The series, produced by Campfire Studios, is meant to follow Tomlinson and Malik as they \u201cembark on a road trip across America in a spontaneous adventure of reconnection, exploration and a lot of laughter,\u201d according to a fall 2025 press release.<\/p>\n

The former bandmates would also open up about \u201clife, love, loss, fatherhood\u201d and their late bandmate Payne. (Malik is dad to daughter Khai<\/a>, 5, whom he shares with ex Gigi Hadid<\/strong>, while Tomlinson shares son Freddie, 8, with ex Briana Jungwirth<\/strong>.\u00a0)<\/p>\n

Shortly after news broke of Tomlinson and Malik\u2019s alleged feud, the doc\u2019s director, Nicola Marsh<\/strong>, shared a post about The Sun\u2019s reporting via her Instagram Stories, per screenshots taken by multiple outlets.<\/p>\n

The future of the docuseries remains uncertain. Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to Tomlinson, Malik and Campfire Studios for comment.<\/p>\n

Tomlinson and Malik met in 2010 when they both appeared on X-Factor<\/em> and were paired with Styles, Horan and Payne to form One Direction. They subsequently shot to global superstardom<\/a>, remaining a fivesome until Malik\u2019s departure in 2015. 1D announced their official hiatus the following year in January 2016.<\/p>\n

While speaking to Us<\/em> in 2017, Malik confirmed that his relationships with the other group members had changed since the band ended<\/a>, but insisted that everyone remains on a \u201ccivil leve.l\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not the way it used to be. Obviously, we were a lot closer because we were together the entire time, spending 24 hours a day in the band, and now we\u2019re not, so we\u2019re living our own lives,\u201d he told Us.<\/em> \u201cWe\u2019re all growing as individual men, and we still keep in touch and check in with each other, not as much as we used to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tomlinson told The Sun<\/em> that same year that he and Malik had recently reconnected.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mum said, \u2018You\u2019ve got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life\u2019s too f***ing short,\u2019 \u201d Tomlinson recalled at the time, adding that pair \u201creally care about each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI could always break the rules a little bit with Zayn,\u201d he quipped. \u201cIt was that brotherly love. We will always have that love for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tomlinson and Malik were reunited again alongside Styles and Horan after Payne\u2019s tragic death at age 31 in October 2024. The foursome made their first public appearance together since Malik\u2019s departure at Payne\u2019s funeral<\/a>.<\/p>\n
