Lainey Wilson has paid tribute to her partner<\/p>\n
\nThe 33-year-old singer has enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom, but Lainey credits Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges for her ability to withstand the pressures of fame.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking in her new documentary, Lainey Wilson: Keepin\u2019 Country Cool, she explained: “I don\u2019t know how I would have survived these last few years.<\/p>\n
\n“I would come home off the road, I was so tired, and he was the only one who would see it, but I\u2019d be crying and packing my bags again. He got to see behind the curtain.<\/p>\n
\n“He also knew how much went into doing this and how much that I have dedicated my life to it. He adds so much to my life, I\u2019m like, \u2018Why wouldn\u2019t I wanna spend the rest of my life with my best friend?\u2019 Somebody who lifts me up and encourages me and shoots me straight, who cooks potato soup for me. This is making it. I just did not know that this was gonna be a part of the \u2018making it.\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nLainey and the former NFL player began dating in 2021 and they got engaged in early 2025.<\/p>\n
\nIn the documentary, Devlin opens up about their romance, explaining that they quickly developed a strong connection.<\/p>\n
\nHe recalled: “We met just through mutual friends. I asked her to dinner one night.<\/p>\n
\n“I felt like I\u2019d known her for years, really. I knew that night, like, this was the person I was gonna spend the rest of my life with. I really did.”<\/p>\n
\nLainey also believes she can really relate to her fiance and vice versa.<\/p>\n
\nThe chart-topping star said: “He dedicated his life to football. He knows what it\u2019s like to work something from the ground up. And it\u2019s crazy, \u2019cause when we met he was coming out of football and I was starting to kind of ramp up into music. We were able to, like, ebb and flow and understand.”<\/p>\n
