On the allegations that Robby’s a misogynist:<\/b> \u201cI made jokes [on set] this season where I\u2019d get done yelling at somebody and say, \u2018Someone bring me another woman to yell at!\u2019<\/b> I don\u2019t know if people are going to get where I\u2019m coming from with this or not, but [Robby] yells at the people that he feels inferior to. They\u2019re such rock stars, they should be doing this better. He knows what their potential is, and their potential is far greater than his potential, which is what\u2019s so maddening about watching them squander it or not believe in it. It\u2019s not cruelty, it\u2019s certainly not abuse.<\/b> If anything, it\u2019s pure projection… That was the intentionality behind it. Not to say Robby\u2019s a chauvinist… Man, he\u2019s got a soft spot for Santos, he\u2019s got an absolute soft spot for Javadi, and he loves McKay. And he loved Collins, my God, he loved her because she\u2019s the one who got away.<\/b>\u201d<\/p>\n

On the atmosphere on set:<\/b> \u201cWe move fast. And if you don\u2019t come in knowing your shit, you\u2019re going to get bulldozed, and you\u2019re going to be embarrassed, and you\u2019re going to have the worst day of your life. But if you come in ready to rock, you\u2019re going to be exhilarated all day, and this is going to be the closest to being on a live-theater production that you\u2019ve ever worked. We\u2019re calling pros to come and be pros, and the pros are answering the call, and that\u2019s when you get one plus one to equal three.<\/b> But to do that, you come to work not to be comfortable, but to work.\u201d<\/p>\n

[<\/span><\/svg>noah giving dumb advice to the cast<\/a><\/b>]<\/span><\/span>On his one piece of advice to the cast:<\/b> \u201cI said, \u2018There\u2019s going to come a point in time where you\u2019re going to get offered other opportunities and it\u2019s going to be really hard for you to turn them down. And then after you turn them down, because we won\u2019t let you out to do them, you\u2019re going to come to work and we\u2019re going to ask you to work background all day, you\u2019re going to start thinking to yourself, I don\u2019t know that I want to do this. This is costing me my career.<\/b> In that moment, remember these words: This is not a springboard\u2014this is a surfboard. If you think you can jump off of this to a higher height, you will not. You will fall. If you stay on this board and you let this wave carry you, I promise you it will take you where you want to go. But take it from me, if you\u2019re looking for better writing, there isn\u2019t. If you\u2019re looking for more resonance with your work, there won\u2019t be. If you\u2019re looking for a more inclusive community where you\u2019re going to be respected and honored and valued, good luck to you<\/b>. I\u2019ve been out there. It doesn\u2019t get any better than this. So enjoy it because this is going to be the one you\u2019re comparing everything to for the rest of your life.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
