Brenda Song<\/a> considers Running Point to be a “dream” project.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Brenda Song stars in the Netflix show<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old actress plays Ali Lee, a chief of staff, in the Netflix series, which focuses on a reformed party girl who runs a professional basketball team, and Brenda has revealed that she loves being part of the Mindy Kaling-created show.<\/p>\n
She told People: “When I heard Mindy Kaling was doing an untitled basketball project starring Kate Hudson, I was like, ‘What do I need to do? Do I need to give blood to be a part of this show? This is my dream.'”<\/p>\n
Brenda said her passion for the show stems from a lifelong love of basketball, and in particular the LA Lakers, having become a fan when Kobe Bryant was drafted to the team in 1996.<\/p>\n
She said: “Kobe’s the reason that I became a hardcore Lakers fan, and for those 20 years, I watched 82 games a year, I listened to it on the radio. They had to put a monitor under the Suite Life bleachers so I could watch it, because I would need to know what the score was. I loved it so much.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Brenda previously claimed that she’s “had to hustle” to become a success in Hollywood.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress – who was born in California to Thai parents – feels she’s had to overcome the odds in order to become a success in the movie business.<\/p>\n
\nBrenda – who actually began her career at the age of six, working as a child model – told Cosmopolitan: “I\u2019ve had to hustle my entire life being an Asian American actress in Hollywood. I\u2019ve just always had to be very proactive.”<\/p>\n
\nMacaulay Culkin, the actress’ long-term partner, also credited the film star for helping him to navigate the stresses and strains of fame.<\/p>\n
\nMacaulay, 45 – who was one of the most successful child actors of the 90s – told Brenda: “You\u2019re my champion, the only person happier for me today than I am. <\/p>\n
\n“You\u2019re not only the best woman I\u2019ve ever known, you\u2019re the best person I\u2019ve ever known. You\u2019ve given me all my purpose.”<\/p>\n
