Bluesky\u2019s website and app are still struggling<\/a> on Thursday after experiencing service interruptions that COO Rose Wang attributed<\/a> to a denial-of-service attack. <\/p>\n

According to the social network\u2019s status page<\/a>, the issues began around 2:42 a.m. ET time on Thursday and have continued since.<\/p>\n

Currently, the Bluesky site and app will load at times, slowly, and other times will throw error messages. <\/p>\n

For instance, switching to a particular feed within the app displays a message that says \u201cThis feed is currently receiving high traffic and is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Message from server: Rate Limit Exceeded.\u201d <\/p>\n

Popular feeds like Discover or the official Bluesky Team\u2019s feed are seeing this problem, though users\u2019 own personal feeds may launch. <\/p>\n

Other times, like when trying to visit a user\u2019s profile, the site will just display an error message, forcing you to refresh and try again. <\/p>\n

Bluesky protocol engineer Bryan Newbold remarked around<\/a> 3:46 a.m. ET, \u201coof, our services are getting pretty hard tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company has not officially shared what\u2019s causing the slowdown or provided an estimated time for a fix.<\/p>\n

Bluesky has not yet responded to a request for comment. <\/p>\n

The service disruptions are impacting Bluesky, but other communities running their own infrastructure on the underlying protocol that powers the decentralized social network appear to be functioning for the time being.<\/p>\n
