Aaron Carter<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s mom, Jane Carter Schneck<\/strong>, has launched a GoFundMe to honor his music legacy with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.<\/p>\n

Schneck noted in the fundraiser description that her late son, who died at 34 in November 2022, wore many hats as a \u201csinger, rapper, actor, and entertainer who rose to international fame\u201d and was \u201cone of the most recognizable teen pop stars of the late 1990s and early 2000s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carter\u2019s mom reflected on his successful career, which started with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1997 at the age of 9. The singer went on to drop chart-topping singles \u201cI Want Candy\u201d and \u201cThat\u2019s How I Beat Shaq\u201d before his albums Oh Aaron<\/em> and Another Earthquake!<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cCarter toured internationally, performed alongside major acts including the Backstreet Boys, and became a familiar face on television, including a top-five finish on Dancing With the Stars<\/em>,\u201d Schneck continued. \u201cHe later expanded into stage acting and independent music.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPrior to Aaron Carter\u2019s death, he had an estranged bond with sibling Nick Carter. \u201cMy brother and I have always had an up and down relationship,\u201d the \u201cI Want Candy\u201d performer, who died in November 2022, exclusively told\u00a0Us Weekly\u00a0in April 2017. \u201cWe\u2019re brothers \u2014 what do you expect? We both do the same thing too, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Schneck highlighted that her son\u2019s \u201cimpact on a generation of young fans<\/a> and his contributions to pop music continue to resonate,\u201d which is why she is determined to get him his own star.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce began accepting 2027 nominations on April 1, with a deadline for this year\u2019s admissions on May 15. Posthumous awards require a two-year waiting period after death, according to the Walk of Fame website, which notes that \u201cone posthumous award may be given each year and a family member must accept the award.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schneck said the money raised from her GoFundMe \u201cwill cover the creation, installation, and long-term maintenance of the star,\u201d adding, \u201cEvery donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer.\u201d<\/p>\n
