Barbie Ferreira left the hit show in 2022<\/p>\n
\nThe 29-year-old actress played Kat Hernandez on the hit HBO series between 2019 and 2022, but Barbie was ultimately happy to walk away from the show in order to seek new challenges.<\/p>\n
\nDuring an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Barbie shared: “It wasn\u2019t dramatic. It just wasn\u2019t going anywhere.”<\/p>\n
\nBarbie’s on-screen character was pushed to the margins of the show as time went on, and the actress is now looking to the future with optimism.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I don\u2019t need to be on the biggest TV show on earth if I\u2019m not, like, acting. I would rather do an indie movie where I\u2019m flexing my muscles, being creatively asked to do things.”<\/p>\n
\nBarbie is keen to follow her own ambitions in the entertainment business.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: “I believe in myself as an actress, and I want to see my career look a little differently than this. It\u2019s okay if it\u2019s not, like, the hit TV show. I did that. I want to do my thing.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Barbie previously revealed that acting was a childhood ambition.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress was clear from a young age that she wanted to become a star.<\/p>\n
\nShe told People: “I knew what I wanted from a very young age. <\/p>\n
\n“I didn’t grow up in a Hollywood family by any means or anything like that, so for me, I just had no plan B. <\/p>\n
\n“I’m just a go-getter in this way where I really try. If I want to do something, I will try my hardest to make it happen and continue doing it.”<\/p>\n
\nBarbie is determined to remain humble and plans to continue to learn from her co-stars.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress – who starred in Euphoria alongside the likes of Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow and Sydney Sweeney – said: “I think really the confidence is just in knowing my worth and believe in myself, which is always hard. Every day I learn something new about me and my craft, and as I get older too, things happen.”<\/p>\n
