CBS could be expanding the Fire Country<\/em> <\/a>and Sheriff Country<\/em> TV universe with another spinoff show.<\/p>\n Multiple outlets reported that a third series in the franchise is in the very early stages of development. The untitled drama would be following a medical team<\/a> in the town of Edgewater, California, according to Deadline<\/em><\/a>. A possible character that would lead the show could be introduced in the upcoming second season of Sheriff Country<\/em>.<\/p>\n It is unclear who would be writing the script for the pilot since the spinoff concept is so early in its conception. The possible offshoot would be executive produced by Sheriff Country<\/em> showrunner Matt Lopez,<\/strong> Fire Country <\/em>and Sheriff Country<\/em> executive producers Max Thieriot, Joan Rater<\/strong> and Tony Phelan<\/strong> \u2014 as well as franchise executive producers Jerry Bruckheimer<\/strong> and KristieAnne Reed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Fire Country<\/em>, which premiered in 2022<\/a>, follows inmate Bode (Thieriot) as he attempts to shorten his prison sentence by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program. By the third season, Bode is out of prison and determined to prove himself at Cal Fire.<\/p>\n The world of Edgewater, meanwhile, has continued to grow, with a Sheriff Country spinoff centered around Sharon\u2019s (Diane Farr<\/strong>) sister Mickey (Morena Baccari<\/strong>n) and a possible second offshoot with Jared Padalecki<\/strong>\u2018s character<\/a>, Camden Casey, which is still in consideration.<\/p>\n Thieriot, 37, who is an executive producer on Fire Country <\/em>and Sheriff Country<\/em>, revealed he always has new ideas<\/a> on his mind.<\/p>\n \u201cI know there\u2019s a limit to the amount of Country [shows] we can have. I think there\u2019s also a certain point where it\u2019s, like, quality over quantity,\u201d he explained to Us Weekly<\/em> in April 2025. \u201cSo the most important thing is that we\u2019re always nurturing Fire Country \u2014 and now Sheriff Country \u2014 and making sure that they are getting all the attention that they should be getting so that the audience gets what they deserve. That\u2019s, to me, the most important thing.
