\t\t<\/p>\n Jamie Dornan<\/strong><\/a> is joining the Lord of the Rings<\/em> universe! <\/p>\n It was just announced at 2026 CinemaCon<\/em> in Las Vegas on Tuesday (April 14) that the 43-year-old actor has been cast in the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, according to Deadline<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Jamie<\/strong> will take on the role of \u201cStrider, the chief of the Northern D\u00fanedain Rangers. Accompanying Strider on the dangerous hunt, will be another of the D\u00fanedain, Halvard, played by Leo Woodall<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n Jamie<\/strong> is taking over the role, also known as Aragorn, who was previously played by Viggo Mortenson<\/strong>. Viggo<\/strong> was announced earlier this month<\/a> to not be returning. <\/p>\n Jamie <\/strong>and Leo <\/strong>will join fellow newcomer to the franchise, Kate Winslett<\/strong> as Marigol. <\/p>\n Reprising their roles include Andy Serkis<\/strong> as Gollum and Smeagol, Ian McKellen<\/strong> as Gandalf, Lee Pace<\/strong> as Thranduil and Elijah Wood<\/strong> as Frodo Baggins. <\/p>\n \u201cAcross two trilogies, a mark of a Middle-earth film, has always been the formidable array of talent brought to bear in every role.
