Expelling anyone in Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong. But it\u2019s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress,\u201d Swalwell\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepSwalwell\/status\/2043802702971359521\/photo\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote on X<\/a> (formerly Twitter).<\/p>\n<p>While Swalwell apologized for \u201cmistakes in judgment I\u2019ve made in my past,\u201d he has continued to maintain that the most serious allegations against him are false.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXF8xOGjJlM\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>\u201cI will fight the serious, false allegations made against me.
