Kim Plath<\/strong><\/a> hasn\u2019t been seeing eye to eye with daughter Lydia Plath<\/strong><\/a> since her divorce from Barry Plath<\/strong>, but their upcoming Welcome to Plathville<\/em><\/a> heart-to-heart might change that.<\/p>\n \u201cWhenever I talked to you, I just felt like there was \u2014 I was talking to a brick wall,\u201d Lydia, 22, confesses to her mom, 53, in Us Weekly<\/em>\u2019s exclusive sneak peek of the Tuesday, April 14, episode of the TLC series.<\/p>\n Kim \u2014 who was married to Barry, 58, for 24 years before their 2022 split<\/a> \u2014 reveals she felt uneasy with Lydia once she announced she was leaving her father.<\/p>\n \u201cI felt that you were judging me and, like, not accepting where I was in life,\u201d Kim confesses as her daughter cuts her hair in the clip.<\/p>\n Kim later tells the cameras that it \u201churts to hear\u201d Lydia\u2019s remarks about her alleged demeanor during her yearslong divorce, which was finalized in 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI certainly never intended to be like a brick wall,\u201d Kim says in a confessional. \u201cSo I\u2019m making an effort towards chatting about things on a deeper level.\u201d<\/p>\n Kim proceeds to open up to Lydia, telling her that the \u201chardest thing\u201d about walking away from her marriage was \u201cknowing that it was hurting all of you kids.\u201d (Kim shares nine children with Barry<\/a>. The exes\u2019 10th child, son Joshua<\/a>, died in 2008 at 17 months following an accident on their farm.)<\/p>\n \u201cThat was the last thing I wanted. And I\u2019m sorry that that happened,\u201d Kim explains to Lydia. \u201cI mean, it definitely would have been easier if he had been the one to leave, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n Lydia is visibly emotional<\/a> when she does her own confessional, reflecting on her initial feelings toward Kim and her choice to move on from Barry.<\/p>\n In a flashback clip, fans are reminded that Lydia criticized Kim when she first started dating again after her split. \u201cI can\u2019t support this,\u201d Lydia previously told her mother when she revealed she was seeing now-boyfriend Ken.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last thing I ever wanted for it to come across was that I was judging my mom,\u201d Lydia tells the cameras in Us<\/em>\u2019 sneak peek at this week\u2019s episode. \u201cI think there\u2019s definitely part of me that was hurt, but deep down this, you know, was never my intention.\u201d<\/p>\n Lydia also manages to tell her mom how her perspective has changed since the divorce bombshell<\/a> was first dropped.<\/p>\n
