Slayyyter<\/strong> packed the Mojave Stage at Coachella in April 2026, delivering a debut festival performance that drew a capacity crowd and sparked viral reactions across the internet.<\/span><\/p>\n The singer, born Catherine Grace Garner<\/strong>, 29, had never played the festival before. Reports noted the size and energy of her audience, with comparisons drawn to Chappell Roan<\/strong>\u2019s 2024 Coachella set.<\/span><\/p>\n In an interview with <\/span>Vogue<\/span><\/a>, Slayyyter described the milestone as surreal.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt feels like such a dream come true. I have always wanted to attend Coachella\u2014let alone play it\u2014since I would see photos on Tumblr when I was in high school. It feels very surreal.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Her setlist included \u201cBeat Up Chanels,\u201d \u201cDance\u201d and \u201cCrank,\u201d and the crowd response exceeded her expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was surprised how many people knew the words to the non-single songs on the album. The crowd response to \u2018Crank\u2019 was maybe my favorite moment of the whole set, though. Slayyyter is an American singer, songwriter and rapper from Kirkwood, Missouri, who got her start releasing music independently on SoundCloud.<\/span><\/p>\n She attended the University of Missouri for one year before leaving in 2016 to pursue music full time. In the early days, she created \u201c\u201880s lo-fi pop\u201d music, producing and editing songs herself while working from her bedroom closet at her mother\u2019s house. During that period, she supported herself through service jobs, camming and findomme work.<\/span><\/p>\n Her stage name is derived from a variation of the surname of Ron Slater<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n Her debut mixtape, <\/span>Slayyyter<\/span><\/i>, arrived in 2019. Her debut studio album, <\/span>Troubled Paradise<\/span><\/i>, was released in June 2021, followed by <\/span>Starfucker<\/span><\/i> in September 2023.
