Tom Dumont<\/strong><\/a> has revealed he has been diagnosed with early on-set Parkinson\u2019s Disease.<\/p>\n

The 58-year-old No Doubt<\/strong> guitarist opened up about his health in a new video shared to Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cSharing a personal update. I\u2019m doing well, many thanks for your support,\u201d he captioned the video. <\/p>\n

Tom<\/strong> started out his video by talking about preparing for No Doubt<\/strong>\u2018s upcoming Las Vegas residency at the Sphere<\/a> in May, before diving into his health update. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe other thing I wanted to talk about was my health \u2013 so a number of years ago I was experiencing a number of symptoms, went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, and, uh, I did a whole bunch of tests and I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson\u2019s disease,\u201d he shared. \u201cIt\u2019s been a struggle, it\u2019s a struggle every day, and I\u2019ll make another video with details about what Parkinson\u2019s entails.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Mayo Clinic<\/a><\/em>, Parkinson\u2019s \u201cis a movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time. The nervous system is a network of nerve cells that controls many parts of the body, including movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician continued to note the good news \u2013 \u201cI can still play music, I can still play guitar, I have been doing really well.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThe other thing is I\u2019ve just been very inspired by so many people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media and that sort of thing,\u201d he continued. \u201cI think it helps erase some of the stigma and it raises awareness, obviously, and awareness is really important for prevention and for research.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that\u2019s it, I am really excited for the shows, I can\u2019t wait to see everybody and thank you for listening,\u201d Tom <\/strong>concluded. <\/p>\n

One of the most notable celebs who is also battling Parkinson\u2019s is Michael J Fox<\/strong>, who recently returned to acting for the first time in years in the new season of Shrinking<\/em>. Muhammad Ali<\/strong>, George H.W. Bush<\/strong>, Neil Diamond<\/strong>, Brett Favre<\/strong>, Reverend Jesse Jackson<\/strong>, Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong>, and \u201cHeated Rivalry\u201d author Rachel Reid<\/strong> are also among those who have been diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
