Euphoria<\/em><\/a>\u2018s season 3 premiere found a way to pay tribute to Eric Dane<\/strong><\/a> after his death.<\/p>\n

Before the episode aired on Sunday, April 12, a title card with Dane\u2019s photo<\/a> was shown, with the message, \u201cIn remembrance of Eric Dane.\u201d The actor is still expected to make an appearance in the upcoming season as Cal.<\/p>\n

News originally broke in February that Dane died after a battle with ALS<\/a>, which is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and has no cure.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,\u201d read a statement from Dane\u2019s loved ones. \u201cThroughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Euphoria cast and crew have mourned the deaths of some of their colleagues over the years. Euphoria, which premiered in 2019, originally followed troubled high school student Rue (Zendaya) as she struggled to remain sober after rehab. The hit HBO series was quickly renewed for a second season after its premiere, but it took [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The statement concluded: \u201cEric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he\u2019s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dane originally went public with his diagnosis less than a year prior.<\/a><\/p>\n
