I\u2019m happy but also very sad,\u201d Carlton wrote via Instagram on December 2, recapping the family\u2019s November. \u201cI heard someone say as grievers, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cApril 11th 2024 was the furthest we will ever be from you. Two years closer to seeing you again,\u201d she wrote over the video.<\/p>\n
More than one year after Abi\u2019s death, Melissa shared that she and husband Tom Carlton<\/strong>\u2019s daughter Molly died on Christmas morning in December 2025. (The couple are also parents<\/a> to daughter Lily and son Harry.)<\/p>\n\u201cOn Christmas morning, our sweet Molly girl, and her big sister Abi were reunited<\/a>,\u201d Melissa wrote in an Instagram statement. \u201cWe are devastated. In disbelief. Confused and in shock. We are exhausted and shaken after a day filled with trauma and heartbreak.\u201d<\/p>\nShe continued, \u201cI feel numb. I cannot yet accept that this is real. I am not ready for this pain. \u2026 I am scared of what life looks like now for us. I am heartbroken for our children.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a follow-up post later that month, Melissa shared that she hadn\u2019t received an \u201cofficial diagnosis\u201d that may provide insight into Molly\u2019s cause of death.<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cThe doctors believe Molly had a genetic heart condition and suspect this may have been the case with Abi, as well,\u201d she wrote at the time. \u201cI\u2019m sharing this because I believe it could be critical information for families who have experienced SUDC (sudden unexpected death in children). This understanding came because Molly was able to be monitored in the hospital, which we were not able to do with Abi. I\u2019ve never felt satisfied with the answers we were given for her. But this type of condition, we\u2019ve been told that even a minor illness could potentially trigger a sudden cardiac event.\u201d<\/p>\n
