width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>And the last season, aired back in 2022, meaning that the cast \u2014 most of him are now approaching 30 \u2014 would be somewhat less believable as high school students, presenting producers with a Stranger Things-esque dilemma.<\/p>\n<p>Well, we might never know how Levinson solved the first problem, but he came up with a clever workaround for the second:<\/p>\n<p>According to a voice-over from Zendaya\u2019s Rue, the narrative picks up \u201cseveral years\u201d after high school.<\/p>\n<p>Nate is working construction, Rue is still mixed up in the world of hard drugs (although she appears to be clinging to sobriety), Maddie is stripping, Jules is a \u201csugar baby,\u201d and Cassie, of course, is creating furry content.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, things haven\u2019t worked out as planned for the telegenic graduates of East Highland High School.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2026\/01\/GettyImages-2249655110-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Sydney Sweeney attends &quot;The Housemaid&quot;
