But that was the plan.<span class=\"image-caption-credit\"> (Image Credit: WMTV)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Harper\u2019s maternal grandfather, however, called the police when he learned that the baby\u2019s father had taken her from the home.<\/p>\n<p>When authorities first questioned the teens, Kruckenberg Anderson insisted that Harper had been taken to an adoption agency by the anonymous Snapchat friend.<\/p>\n<p>(Snapchat is considered fairly anonymous and posts on it are ephemeral. That must have made this story sound plausible to a 16-year-old. It did not work.)<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, Kruckenberg Anderson relented and led police to Harper\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p>No one believes that Harper\u2019s 14-year-old mother had any knowledge of his plans. No charges have been filed against her.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Green Co. man convicted in killing of newborn in 2021\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/C0d291NBVSA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Anderson was found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide and of hiding the corpse of a child.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2026, the now-21-year-old Kruckenberg Anderson received a life sentence.<\/p>\n<p>On the charge of first-degree intentional homicide count, he\u2019ll be eligible for extended supervision in 45 years.<\/p>\n<p>He received a 4-year sentence for hiding his baby\u2019s body, followed by 3 years of extended supervision.<\/p>\n<p>These sentences are concurrent. But it is better than infanticide. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, access to comprehensive sex education and contraceptives should be universal, too. Everyone should have a choice before they become pregnant, before they give birth.<\/p>\n<p><em>No <\/em>teens should become parents.<\/p>\n<p>And, at the risk of sounding controversial, we\u2019d strongly prefer that no teens become murderers, either.
