Shawn Hatosy <\/b>reacted to the news that his The Pitt <\/i>costar Supriya Ganesh <\/b>will not return for the upcoming third season of the medical hit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t really comment because I don\u2019t really know exactly what\u2019s going on there, but he\u2019s obviously disappointed,\u201d Hatosy, 50, told Gold Derby<\/span><\/a> in a Friday, April 10, interview, referring to his character. \u201cI\u2019m disappointed just because of this dynamic [and] this relationship that they have \u2026 the writers teased these moments throughout season 1 and we explored it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hatosy stars on The Pitt <\/i>as Dr. Abbot, a night shift attending who works with SWAT during the day. Ganesh, 28, meanwhile portrays resident Dr. Mohan. News broke earlier in April that Ganesh won\u2019t return for season 3,<\/span><\/a> which was a \u201cstory-driven\u201d decision.<\/p>\n

Throughout both season 1 and 2, fans have shipped Abbot and Mohan, especially when he offered to cover funds for a pricy procedure with no questions asked.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Pitt fans are divided over Supriya Ganesh\u2018s exit from the show ahead of season 3. Ganesh, 28, originally joined the HBO Max series as Samira Mohan in season 1 alongside Noah Wyle, Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez. \u201cThere\u2019s no there <\/i>there other than this idea, so the idea isn\u2019t finished,\u201d Hatosy told Gold Derby. \u201cI think that Supriya\u2019s characterization of Dr. Mohan and what she has brought to it has made the audience love her in a big way, you know, she\u2019s a fan-favorite.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI would say that Dr. Abbot is the head of [Mohan\u2019s] fan club, you know, and early on he\u2019s believed in her and he sees her as the future. He says that she\u2019s the smartest one here.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Hatosy, he\u2019d want to bring Ganesh\u2019s Mohan to the night shift for a potential spinoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the power dynamic is obvious, so I don\u2019t see Abbot as someone who would cross that line,\u201d he teased of fan hope for an onscreen romance. \u201cI think that\u2019s what makes the relationship so special because it\u2019s clear that he\u2019s got that attraction, but there\u2019s nowhere to go with it. That creates this excitement, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
