Chris Masterson<\/strong>\u2018s character isn\u2019t the middle child on Malcolm in the Middle<\/em>, but the actor can personally relate to the dynamics on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a middle child, so I very much have that, \u2018Oh, my God, I want everyone to get along\u2019 energy,\u201d Masterson, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the Tuesday, April 7, red carpet premiere for Malcolm in the Middle<\/em>. \u201cAnd also that reality of like, \u2018Are you guys having fun too?’\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI don\u2019t really like to be the one saying, \u2018We\u2019re all gonna do this right now.\u2019 Because I\u2019m always just thinking \u2018Are they enjoying this?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Off screen, Chris is the middle child<\/a> between older brother Danny Masterson<\/strong> and younger siblings Alanna Masterson<\/strong> and Jordan Masterson<\/strong>. Chris had a different experience on the set of Malcolm in the Middle<\/em>, which ran from 2000 to 2006, where he played the eldest child in the family.<\/p>\n

Chris got to reprise the role<\/a> in the four-part revival, which is out Friday, April 10. Before the premiere, Chris reflected on the chances of him returning for more in the event that Hulu ordered future episodes \u2014 or maybe even a spinoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cDepending on what the material was, I\u2019d be interested in anything in the Malcolm universe. Essentially more episodes or a spinoff or a movie \u2014 as long as it was good,\u201d he told Us<\/em>. \u201cBut this is creator Linwood Boomer\u2019s life when he was a kid. Now what you\u2019re seeing is essentially his life as an adult. If he has more of that upstairs that he wants to share, then we may all go back for that. If he doesn\u2019t, then maybe this will be the last time you and I ever talk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Outside of Malcolm in the Middle<\/em>, Chris isn\u2019t limiting himself when it comes to future roles, adding, \u201cThey don\u2019t have to be comedy. Sometimes the most fun is a really hard play where you\u2019re playing multiple dialects or multiple time frames or something that could be really fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedy, which was a faux memoir of middle child Malcolm Wilkerson (Frankie Muniz), detailed the Wilkerson family\u2019s low-income, dysfunctional life and all the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He continued: \u201cMy favorite things to watch, though, are comedy. Probably my dream job, it would be like a multicamera sitcom, which I\u2019ve never done. I think that job would be pretty sweet and kind of like doing a play every week.\u201d<\/p>\n
