Hulu expanded The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em><\/a> universe with The Testaments<\/em> spinoff \u2014 but did Elisabeth Moss<\/strong><\/a> reprise her role as June?<\/p>\n

Moss was originally asked about the possibility of returning to Gilead in a March episode of The View<\/em>, to which she replied, \u201cI couldn\u2019t tell you if I was! It\u2019s been really cool. [Producing the show] means I didn\u2019t have to say goodbye to the world, which I was very happy about.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress also praised Chase Infiniti<\/strong>, who plays her onscreen daughter.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, getting to be part of anything Chase is part of is so exciting and such an honor. It\u2019s cool,\u201d Moss said while calling The Testaments a show \u201cfor people who love the show and love Handmaid\u2019s, but it\u2019s also for people who\u2019ve never seen Handmaid\u2019s. No offense taken, it\u2019s just a little bit different.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHulu Hulu\u2019s highly anticipated The Handmaid\u2019s Tale spinoff The Testaments is in the works \u2014 but what is there to know about the show so far? Margaret Atwood\u2019s dystopian universe was initially brought to life with The Handmaid\u2019s Tale, which is based on the novel of the same name about a future where low fertility [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Moss ultimately did make a cameo in several episodes when the show dropped one month later.<\/p>\n

Based on Margaret Atwood<\/strong>\u2019s novel of the same name<\/a>, Hulu\u2019s The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> took place in a dystopian future where low fertility rates led women to be assigned to men for bearing children. The series aired from 2017 to 2025.<\/p>\n

The Testaments<\/em>, which premieres April 8, is set three to four years later. Ann Dowd<\/strong>\u2018s Aunt Lydia serves as the narrator as viewers are thrust back into the dystopian future. Agnes and Daisy pose as \u201cPearl Girls\u201d to infiltrate Canada in an attempt to smuggle incriminating information about Gilead\u2019s regime, while Aunt Lydia acts as a covert source within Gilead.<\/p>\n

In addition to Infiniti, 25, and Dowd, The Testaments<\/em> stars Eva Foote, Rowan Blanchard, Kira Guloien, Amy Seimetz<\/strong> and Brad Alexander. Birva Pandya, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Mattea Conforti, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Mabel Li<\/strong> and Isolde Ardies<\/strong> make up the rest of the cast.<\/p>\n

Creator Bruce Miller<\/strong> previously opened up about how<\/a> closely the series would follow Atwood\u2019s book The Testaments<\/em>, hinting that \u201cit\u2019s not going to track precisely\u201d to the novel.<\/p>\n

\u201cMargaret writes these absolutely deliciously specific characters,\u201d he told TVLine in 2022. \u201cWe had to go away from that in Handmaid\u2019s, and we\u2019re going to have to go away from that in Testaments. Testaments is certainly going to be a sequel to the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

More recently, Infiniti, 25, revealed she didn\u2019t meet Moss<\/a> until she was nearly done filming The Testaments<\/em>.<\/p>\n
