You don\u2019t know the story behind it \u2014 maybe it was a move, maybe an estate cleanout, maybe someone just didn\u2019t have the space \u2014 but seeing personal photos discarded hits different from finding an old lamp or a worn-out jacket.<\/span><\/p>\n In an <\/span>interview with Newsweek<\/span><\/a>, published April 4, Peters described the moment she spotted them.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI first noticed the photos while flipping through some frames and albums,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cI just felt a sense of sadness seeing what looked like personal family photos sitting on a Goodwill shelf. It felt like something that wasn\u2019t meant to be there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Peters\u2019 video quickly went viral. As of April 8, it had been seen by more than 8.8 million people. She didn\u2019t list them on eBay. And as for the comments suggesting the photos could be worth money?
