Sia<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her divorce settlement, in which she will pay $42,000 per month in child support<\/a> to her ex, Dan Bernad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see my settlement has been picked up by the press. I\u2019m a sober working mom trying to buy peace,\u201d the \u201cCheap Thrills\u201d singer shared in an X<\/a> post on Tuesday, April 7.<\/p>\n

Sia continued, \u201cI have primary custody of our son and since i am the only parent earning income i still have to pay California\u2019s incredibly high child support.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been a horrific year but it taught me how to navigate incredibly difficult situations, prioritize my family and not absorb other people\u2019s negativity,\u201d she continued, going on to share a quote from Alexander Pope: \u201cTo err is human, to forgive is divine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed on Monday, April 6, that the \u201cChandelier\u201d singer agreed to pay Bernad $42,000 per month for the care of their 2-year-old son Somersault. According to court documents obtained by Us<\/em>, Sia, 50, began the monthly payments on April 1 and will continue to pay the five-figure arrangement until Somersault turns 18.<\/p>\n

As well as child support, Sia will pay for her son\u2019s private school tuition, mutually agreed extracurricular activities, health insurance and mutually agreed uninsured health costs, per the documents.<\/p>\n

Sia and Bernad will share joint legal custody of their son from May, according to the docs, and will split holidays. Sia will have Somersault on Mother\u2019s Day, Easter and at Christmas. Bernad will have the little one on Father\u2019s Day and various Jewish holidays, including Yom Kippur, Passover and Hanukkah. The exes will rotate custody for Thanksgiving, Halloween and other holidays.<\/p>\n

Sia filed for divorce<\/a> from Bernad in March 2025, just two years after they tied the knot in a ceremony hosted at fashion designers Domenico Dolce<\/strong> and Stefano Gabbana<\/strong>\u2019s villa in Portofino, \u200bItaly.<\/p>\n
