I obviously am still processing everything that happened, but these tears are good,\u201d Hilton, 48, shared via an Instagram video on Monday, April 6. \u201cI nearly died. \u201cSo I walked, and it was the most excruciating pain of my life,\u201d Hilton confessed. \u201cI was discharged Saturday and had to cancel the beautiful Easter Sunday I had planned, because I was hurting that badly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite canceling his Sunday, April 5, festivities, Hilton told his followers he is finally feeling better<\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201cThank GOD that I can finally walk again \u2014 slowly. And, though the pain is still very pronounced, I can tolerate it \u2014 and do this all without meds,\u201d he wrote. \u201cAmen!! Every day will get easier and I will get stronger!!! And so it shall be!\u201d<\/p>\n
Hilton\u2019s road to recovery has been a long and scary ordeal, starting in March when he was hospitalized following a bout with the flu. \u201cThe day before I was hospitalized, I was in so much stomach pain. I was like, \u2018This is weird, but it will go away.\u2019 The next morning, I couldn\u2019t walk,\u201d he recalled. \u201cI had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n
Five days into his 21-day stay at the hospital, Hilton revealed he underwent laparoscopic surgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201c[A] surgery where they don\u2019t cut you up, but they miraculously make these incisions \u2026 to literally flip around all of my organs,\u201d he explained. \u201cTrying to find the perforation first, then after flipping around all of my organs, washing me out \u2018cause I had so much infection in there. So much infection.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hilton said his body \u201ckept falling apart\u201d while he was in the hospital, noting that his lungs had to be drained and he had \u201canother major procedure\u201d to try and get the infection out of his system.<\/p>\n
