\t\t<\/p>\n Meryl Streep<\/strong><\/a> shares her thoughts on Melania Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s fashion sense.<\/p>\n The three-time Oscar winner is busy promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/em> and was recently on the cover of Vogue<\/em> alongside former editor-in-chief and current editorial director Anna Wintour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n They attended a conversation moderated by Greta Gerwig<\/strong>, discussing topics like how women in power are meant to dress, per People<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Speaking of the first lady, Meryl<\/strong> said she had \u201cso many thoughts about this,\u201d and believes \u201cthe most powerful message that our current first lady sent was in the coat that said \u2018I Really Don\u2019t Care, Do U?\u2019 when she was going to see migrant children who were incarcerated.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAll dress is about expressing yourself, but we\u2019re also subject to larger historical and political sweeps of expectation,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Aside from Melania<\/strong>, she said she was \u201cstunned at how women in power have to have bare arms on television while men are covered in shirts and ties or a suit. There\u2019s an apology built into women. They have to show their smallness.\u201d<\/p>\n Later in their conversation, Anna<\/strong> talked about how she does not believe wearing a \u201cpower suit\u201d to the office \u201cis in any way necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThink about the women that one admires: Mrs. [Michelle] Obama<\/strong> comes to mind. Whether she\u2019s wearing J.Crew<\/em> or Duro Olowu<\/em> or Matthieu Blazy<\/strong>\u2019s Chanel<\/em>, she always looks like herself.
