Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a> was directly asked if he\u2019s concerned that his threatened attacks against Iranian infrastructure could qualify as a war crime. <\/p>\n The 79-year-old president took a combative stance when questioned on the topic during a press conference<\/a> on Monday (April 6), just a day after he threatened to send the country to hell<\/a> by targeting their bridges and infrastructure in a profanity laden statement on Easter morning. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cDeliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure violate the Geneva Conventions and international law,\u201d a reporter asked during the press event, prompting the president to interrupt him and ask who he worked with. <\/p>\n When the reporter replied that he worked for The New York Times<\/em>, Trump<\/strong> spoke over his question, implying that the publication\u2019s circulation was \u201cway down\u201d and that the outlet was \u201cfailing.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cAre you concerned that your threat to bomb power plants and bridges amount to war crimes,\u201d he asked as Trump<\/strong> cut him off again, saying, \u201cNo, I\u2019m not.\u201d <\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI hope I don\u2019t have to do it. But again, I just said 47 years they\u2019ve been negotiating with these people. They\u2019re great negotiators.\u201d <\/p>\n The reporter persisted, asking why the attacks wouldn\u2019t count as a violation of international law. <\/p>\n \u201cBecause they\u2019re not going to have a nuclear weapon,\u201d Trump<\/strong> replied. \u201cAnd if somebody that takes my place someday is weak and ineffective, which possibly that will happen because we\u2019ve had numerous presidents that are weak, ineffective and afraid of Iran.\u201d <\/p>\n The president added, \u201cWe\u2019re never going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon. And if you think it\u2019s okay for people that are sick of mind, that are tough, smart and sick, really sick\u2026 Any which way you want to say, mentally, these are disturbed people. If you think I\u2019m going to allow them \u2026 to have a nuclear weapon, you can tell your friends at The New York Times<\/em>, not gonna happen.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cEven if it means violating international law?\u201d the reporter asked in one last-ditch effort. \u201cQuiet,\u201d Trump <\/strong>replied. \u201cYou no longer have credibility at The New York Times<\/em> because The New York Times<\/em> said, \u2018Oh, Trump <\/strong>won\u2019t win the election.\u2019 And I won in a landslide. I won every swing state.\u201d <\/p>\n He said the publication was \u201crunning on past fumes,\u201d adding, \u201cYou have to be able to give the correct news. And people like you, who I know are fake. You\u2019re fake.\u201d <\/p>\n Trump<\/strong> then continued to take questions. <\/p>\n Responding to another journalist, Trump <\/strong>affirmed that \u201cvery little is off limits\u201d if he authorizes strikes on Iranian infrastructure. When pressed on if that included schools, he responded, saying, \u201cI don\u2019t want to tell you that.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWe have a plan because of the power of our military where every bridge in Iran will be decimated by 12 tomorrow night,\u201d he said instead. \u201cWhere every power plant in Iran will be out of business, burning, exploding, and never to be used again. I mean complete demolition by 12. And it\u2019ll happen over a period of four hours if we wanted to. We don\u2019t want that to happen.\u201d <\/p>\n He added, \u201cWe may even get involved with helping them rebuild their nation,\u201d saying that he wouldn\u2019t want to have to invest in replacing infrastructure as expensive as bridges and power plants. <\/p>\n A day after the press conference, Trump<\/strong> continued his threats<\/a>, saying, \u201cA whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.
