Olivia Munn<\/strong><\/a> is looking back at almost starring on 30 Rock<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n In a new interview, the 45-year-old Your Friends & Neighbors<\/em> actress claimed that Alec Baldwin<\/strong><\/a> blocked her from landing a role on the NBC comedy series because he didn\u2019t think she looked old enough to play his love interest.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>, Olivia<\/strong> said that she had landed the role of Avery Jessup on 30 Rock<\/em>, but two days later, she was told that Alec<\/strong>, 68, thought that \u201clooked too young.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnother two days later, \u2018No, no, no. They think you\u2019re perfect. You\u2019re going to fly out on Saturday,\u2019\u201d Olivia<\/strong> recalled. \u201cFriday, \u2018No, no, no. Alec thinks that you look too young and he\u2019s putting his foot down.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The role of Avery ultimately went to Elizabeth Holmes<\/strong>. Avery, a financial CNBC reporter and Jack Donaghy\u2019s (Baldwin<\/strong>) future wife, is introduced during season four in 2010. At the time, Alec<\/strong> was 52, Elizabeth <\/strong>was 36, and Olivia<\/strong> was 30.<\/p>\n Olivia<\/strong> said that while she knows starring on 30 Rock<\/em> would have been her \u201cbig break,\u201d she wasn\u2019t \u201cdevastated\u201d by the firing.<\/p>\n \u201cI only thought to myself, \u2018Wow, look how far I got,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cI ended up not getting the job because of something I couldn\u2019t control.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOn my ability and my acting, I got it,\u201d Olivia<\/strong> added. \u201cIt gave me so much confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n She also said that getting the 30 Rock<\/em> job offer was enough for her.<\/p>\n \u201cThese people, iconic people \u2014 Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Grace Wu at NBC casting \u2014 they all thought that I was good enough to have gotten the offer,\u201d Olivia<\/strong> said. \u201cThat\u2019s what I needed. Whether or not I got the job didn\u2019t affect my confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n Looking back, Olivia<\/strong> said that she \u201cfelt really good\u201d going into the audition.<\/p>\n \u201cI dressed for the part, which I\u2019d never really done before. I signed in and I walked outside near the soundstages,\u201d she recalled. \u201cNormally I\u2019d want to be right there. I\u2019d want them to see me. \u201cI just had this confidence like, \u2018They\u2019ll come find me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI kept working on it until I got into the room.
