Lisa Kudrow<\/strong><\/a> is getting candid about her early days on Friends<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

After the hit NBC sitcom blew up, Kudrow\u2019s costars felt the benefit of the show\u2019s success more than she did, according to the actress.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody cared about me,\u201d she said of the show\u2019s early success in a Saturday, April 4, interview with the U.K.\u2019s Independent<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThere were certain parts of [my talent agency] that just referred to me as \u2018the sixth Friend.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Kudrow, 62, shot to fame as Phoebe Buffay in the hit comedy, starring alongside David Schwimmer<\/strong>, Jennifer Aniston<\/strong>, Courteney Cox<\/strong>, Matt LeBlanc<\/strong> and the late Matthew Perry<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Friends<\/em> was not an immediate overnight success when it premiered during the 1994\/95 television season, but it gained traction during its second season, making stars of all six main cast members.<\/p>\n

While Kudrow was the first castmate to win an Emmy in 1998, she said, \u201cBut there was no vision for me and no expectations about the kind of career I could have. There was just, like, \u2018Boy, is she lucky she got on that show.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Outside of Friends<\/em>, Kudrow starred in various independent films until she landed a hit with Analyze This<\/em>, the 1999 comedy starring Robert De Niro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s when the agents and business people started circling, wanting to put me in romantic comedies and things,\u201d she said. \u201cI knew that wasn\u2019t gonna work. I\u2019m just not adorable!\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress also spoke out about rumors that she was the cast member who pushed for the six stars to negotiate their salaries as a group. In Friends<\/em>\u2019 heyday, the six lead actors secured deals worth $1 million an episode<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI absolutely was not the ringleader,\u201d Kudrow said. \u201cAnd that was reported and it wasn\u2019t true. My team were very angry about that. It was leaked sort of as a warning to other clients, like, \u2018Don\u2019t do something like that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Kudrow recalled thinking at the time, \u201cLike, \u2018Hey, people will think I\u2019m really smart!\u2019\u201d However, in reality, \u201cMy team were like, \u201cNo, this is not good! We\u2019re furious that they\u2019re saying this about you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
