The 65-year-old bestselling author \u2013 who was diagnosed with breast cancer in March following a routine mammogram \u2013 was shocked to discover that fake announcements of her death had been published online. <\/p>\n
According to MailOnline, she took to X to blast the obituary before deleting her post and later adding: \u201c’I’ve taken the post about the obituary down, because I don’t want people to think I’m upset by it. <\/p>\n
\u201cI’m not. p***** off yes. But more, I just want people to know that any photos you see of me in hospital, looking sad or with tubes sticking out of me are 100 per cent fake \u2013 AI generated.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fake obituary came not long after Jane took to Instagram to share the good news with her followers that her surgery had been successful and doctors had \u201c’basically got it all\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe posted a video with her cat where she told her fans: \u201cThe surgeon said I can lift some weights so I’m starting with this one [the cat]. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cJust a little update, all is good, yesterday I had my follow-up and they have basically got it all. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhat they haven’t got is a clear margin around the edge of what they have taken so I am going to have to have another op. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt will be just to make sure they get everything, which is a bit of a pain, but it isn’t a worry \u2013 they just need to make sure they have a clear margin, so will be the exact same operation as last time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added in the caption: \u201c(Mostly) good update: Things I forgot to say in the video: I\u2019m still getting fabulous treatment. And I know how lucky I am to have had my diagnosis so early – from a routine mammogram with absolutely no symptoms. I\u2019ve had so many conversations with lovely people who\u2019ve come up to me in the street in the last couple of weeks told me their own personal experiences, and it\u2019s totally rammed home both how different it is for everyone and also how important screening and early diagnosis really is.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJane also solicited advice from her followers on her treatment options, writing: \u201cOh, and as Tamoxifen is one of the options being debated for me I wanted to ask if anyone has experience and how the side effects were. I\u2019ve read they can be rough.\u201d<\/p>\n
