\t\t<\/p>\n Thomas Doherty<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about being cast in the Gossip Girl<\/strong><\/a><\/em> revival series on HBO Max and why he didn\u2019t want to do the show at first. <\/p>\n The 30-year-old actor played Max Wolfe in the series and it led to him being cast in the Hulu shows Tell Me Lies<\/em> and Paradise<\/em>. <\/p>\n While appearing on Jake Shane<\/strong>\u2018s podcast Therapuss<\/a><\/em>, Thomas was asked \u201chow pumped\u201d he was to be cast in Gossip Girl<\/em>. His answer was very honest.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was excited,\u201d Thomas <\/strong>began, before explaining his true thoughts.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2026 I was told it would be more kind of, because I wasn\u2019t that keen at the time to do Gossip Girl<\/em>, I was told it\u2019d be more kind of Euphoria <\/em>sprinkled into it,\u201d Thomas <\/strong>said. \u201cAgain, at 24, finding my feet, comparing how my career should, what I should be, how I should been seen, all that ego stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n Thomas<\/strong> added, \u201cYou always compare yourself to other actors, which is the worst thing you can possibly do. You look at amazing actors like [Timothee] Chalamet<\/strong> or whoever else was kicking around then and they\u2019re doing these amazing films that are going to awards seasons and stuff. And so then your ego flares up and you\u2019re insecure and you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh no, I want to be cool. And I want to do all this cool stuff.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cIt was an incredible job and an incredible opportunity and I met incredible people.
