Producers play down severity of Jonathan Majors\u2019 accident on movie set<\/p>\n
After a video published by Deadline appeared to show Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne accidentally tumbling out of a window while filming a scene, producers Bonfire Legend insisted it was a minor incident.<\/p>\n
Dallas Sonnier of Bonfire Legend told The Hollywood Reporter: \u201cThe actors\u2019 fall was shorter than the failed movie careers of the now-union reps.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sources alleged to Deadline that Kilcoyne required stitches \u201call over his hands\u201d after the fall, which was reportedly around six feet to the ground.<\/p>\n
One crew member told Deadline: \u201cWhen I got there, nobody mentioned anything about people falling out the window\u2026It seemed weird to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSources told the publication that the accident occurred after the window was replaced with an unsecured sheet of tempered glass to be shattered in a later stunt, which was not expected to involve any actors.<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, the unnamed movie is set to be Major\u2019s comeback film, his first in four years.<\/p>\n
\nThe Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star was dropped from several projects after being found guilty of assaulting his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari in 2023.<\/p>\n
\nThe title, plot and other casting details are being kept under wraps for the time being \u2013 but the story is said to be in the vein of ’80s and ’90s action movies such as Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers, both about groups of teenage boys who had to come together to defeat invading enemies.<\/p>\n
\nKyle Rankin is directing the movie from his own screenplay, with Ben Shapiro and Dallas Sonnier producing for The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend respectively.<\/p>\n
\nMajors has been trying to rebuild his career since his assault conviction and is also set to star in supernatural revenge thriller Merciless from director Martin Villeneuve \u2013 which was first announced in 2024.<\/p>\n
\nThe 36-year-old actor portrayed villain Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) before being dropped after his conviction but suggested last year that he would be keen to reprise the role if the chance arose.<\/p>\n
\nIn an interview with USA Today, Majors said: “Yeah, of course I say yes. Disney, Marvel Studios, I love them!”<\/p>\n
\nHe then gushed about his Loki co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, as well as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s Paul Rudd, describing how he “loved working” with all three actors.<\/p>\n
\nMajors added: “Tom Hiddleston, loved working with that guy. Loved working with Paul Rudd. Loved working with Gugu Mbatha-Raw. I love the industry so much, and now I\u2019m in the place where I can feel the love from them and actually express my love for them.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Lovecraft Country star also felt that it was unfair that he had been shunned by Hollywood, when Robert Downey Jr \u2013 who was previously arrested for possessing drugs \u2013 and The Flash star Ezra Miller \u2013 who was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment in 2022 \u2013 were given second chances in the industry.<\/p>\n
\nMajors said: “I think it\u2019s fair that Mr. Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love, and that Mr. Miller has gotten the same treatment.<\/p>\n
\n“And that they\u2019re being allowed to work their art and be creative at that level \u2026 I didn\u2019t really get that.”<\/p>\n
